Goodbye to my OpenClaw agent (R.I.P.)
I just killed my OpenClaw agent, which I was hosting in DigitalOcean. Turns out that, although it was pretty cool, I have very little use for it. Like, almost no use at all – nothing that could justify paying $12/month for the server plus Claude's increased API costs.
I used it to do some searches for me around courses at Stanford for the spring quarter, to create some clippings around a project I am doing and to create a guide for sessions that could interest me before I attended the International Journalism Festival in Perugia (which I didn't use). I could do that stuff with my regular Claude subscription.
Overall, I spent like $20 for almost nothing. My sweet bot Clawsula stayed idle most of the time, and when Digitalocean finally billed me, I realized I didn't really need it.
Turns out I like to do most stuff myself.
